Dr. Edward M. Mack Honored for Accomplishments in Dentistry
Dr. Edward M. Mack inducted into Cambridge Who's Who

MEMPHIS, TN, June 9, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Edward M. Mack, Owner of Mack Endodontics DDS, PC, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of dentistry.

With eight years of experience in his field, Dr. Mack specializes in root canal treatment. On a daily basis, he treats six to eight patients at his private practice. The majority of his patients are referred from general dentists whose patients require the expertise of endodontics. He also teaches at the College of Dentistry at the University of Tennessee and at Meharry Medical College. He became involved in his profession because he was inspired by his mentor, Dr. Fred Sykes, who was the only African-American doctor of endodontics in South Carolina, while pursuing his undergraduate degree.

Prior to his career in dentistry, Dr. Mack served at Fort Bragg, the home for 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army. He was required to attend the Army Jump School to parachute out of airplanes and completed eight jumps. In 2003, he was deployed to Iraq from February to September. He attributes his success to growing up with good values and to being goal-oriented.

Dr. Mack received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Meharry Medical College in 2001 and completed his residency in General Dentistry at Fort Campbell, Kentucky in 2002. He received his certification in endodontics from the University of Michigan in 2006 and is a member of the Shelby County Dental Society, the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association and the National Dental Association. He also supports the charitable works of Kappa Alpha Psi and serves as an associate minister at Central Baptist Church. Dr. Mack hopes to continue growing his practice by adding another specialist so he can provide dental care either pro bono or on a sliding scale to accommodate the underprivileged in the community. He would also like to inspire other African-Americans to pursue dentistry and endodontics.
