Dental office in Eagan Participates in Successful Give Kids a Smile Event
Dr. Collin Hatcher and his staff at Cedar Cliff Dental Center participated in the Give Kids a Smile Program this past friday, giving free dental care to kids from low-income families.

EAGAN, MN, February 10, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- February is National Children's Dental Health Month initiated and sponsored by the American Dental Association. The main goal of it is to improve oral health of children by providing education on proper dental hygiene techniques and good dental health.

Give Kids a Smile (GKAS) is the main event of Dental Health Month and is designed to provide free preventive dental care to low-income children who normally would not have access to care.

This past friday, the team at Cedar Cliff Dental Center was able to give free dental care to a group of kids, ranging from 4-15 years old, Besides giving them preventive care like exams, x-rays, and cleanings, they were also able to educate them on basic ways to improve their dental health and get on the right path toward good oral health. The doctor and staff performed services as volunteers.

For some of the children that came, it was their first trip to the dentist ever. Some of the children had fears and anxieties about their first trip to the dentist. The hygenists and Dr. Hatcher did a great job of easing these fears, and by the end of their visit they had big smiles on their faces after they realized a trip to the dentist wasn't bad at all.
